Bio
Brittany Scott Smith is an Emmy® award winning television director, producer, and writer who has served as the supervising producer of "The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore" (Comedy Central) and as the co-executive producer of "The Rundown with Robin Thede” (BET). Smith has directed numerous television shows, including “A Black Lady Sketch Show” (HBO), the election special “Wilmore” (Peacock) plus “Helpsters” (Apple), “Hello Jack: The Kindness Show” (Apple) and the iconic children's program, “Sesame Street” (Max). Smith made her film directorial debut in 2022 with VH1’s "All I Didn’t Want for Christmas" starring Gabourey Sidibe, Loretta Devine, Kel Mitchell, and Andrew Bushell. Known for her exceptional work, Smith’s contributions have been recognized with multiple award nominations including a Children’s Emmy® win for Best Directing for a Multiple Camera Program. Her expertise in a variety of genres has led to the success of several popular television shows on multiple platforms including Comedy Central, BET, Max, and HBO.
