Mikhail Saburov

Born and raised in Russia, I spent over 10 years performing and directing plays at a local theater. After moving to the US in 2013 I graduated from School of Visual Arts, and, most recently, AFI Conservatory. Meanwhile, I’ve made several award-winning short films in both Russia and the US. In 2015, my short film “Remember Us” was sold at Cannes Marche du Film, acquiring distribution in the UK, US, Germany and Japan. Short film “Bound” premiered at the Oscar-Qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival in 2020. Most recent short film I wrote and directed “Like Us” premiered at AFI Film Festival Conservatory showcase and was released on a sci-fi streaming platform DUST. Since December 20th, 2021 it has received over 140 thousand views. I have also written several feature films both on spec and assignment with historical drama SILVER making it to Academy Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinals 2022. Currently co-writing an undisclosed feature film with director Theo Lindquist in LA.
