Chris Bythewood

CHRIS BYTHEWOOD is a television and film Writer / Producer born and raised in New York. After graduating from Marist College with a BA in Communications, Chris made the move to southern California to study at the American Film Institute (AFI). Graduating with an MFA in Producing, Chris soon took notice of the evolving landscape of television and landed his first network job with Fox Broadcasting Company. After gaining valuable executive experience, Chris left Fox to enter the Writer’s Room as Producer’s Assistant and Writer’s Assistant on THE CHICAGO CODE, a 20th Century Fox show. Upon the show’s cancelation, Chris returned to Fox as a creative executive in the Audience Strategy department. Chris built relationships and cultivated talent externally, while managing relationships across all Fox entertainment divisions. Chris co-created and ran the FOX WRITERS INTENSIVE (FWI), as well as the FOX Global Directors Initiative for Fox Television Groups, Fox Networks Groups and Fox Films. Chris returned to the Writer’s Room once again, writing on the mini-series SHOTS FIRED, another 20th Century Fox show. The series was well received critically and accepted into the Sundance International Film Festival. Soon after, Chris became integral in the development of an event series with Confluential Films, Get Lifted and Sony. During development, Chris became Head of TV Development at Confluential Films, and a contributor to the HBO documentary “40 Years A Prisoner.” In addition to executive duties, Chris continued to write and produce with the company. Since leaving Confluential to focus solely on writing and producing, Chris has developed and pitched multiple television shows, as well as produced on two feature films.
