Bio

Jazmin Aguilar is a Mexican-American director and writer hailing from Los Angeles. She earned her bachelor's degree in Digital Cinema and Video Production from the Art Institute of Hollywood in 2018. Her debut short film, "The Letter," garnered recognition at numerous Academy Award and BAFTA-qualifying festivals and was licensed by HBO in 2020. Jazmin also directed her first theatre play, "The Fruit Flies," which premiered at the NBC Short + Sweet Hollywood competition. Furthermore, Jazmin received the prestigious title of Best Director at the Young Entertainer Awards held at Warner Bros. Studios. She is an esteemed alumna of the HBO Tomorrow's Filmmakers Today Fellowship. In 2022, Jazmin emerged as a finalist in the McDonald's Spotlight Dorado competition, earning funds for her short film and proof of concept, "Kid Ugly." Currently, she is diligently working on her debut coming-of-age feature film, "Hija de tu Madre."
