Laura Marcus runs Tazmanian Elf Productions, a Talent Relations, Casting, Marketing and Hospitality company with clients that include CBS Sports, Disney Channel, FOX Sports, Turner Sports, SMAC Entertainment, A. Smith & Co., Big Ten Network and LIV Golf. An Emmy-Award winner, Laura successfully built a solid reputation of accomplishment during a career that spanned 22 years at FOX Sports. She was one of FOX Sports’ original hires when FOX obtained the rights to the NFL and formed its Sports Division. As the Vice President, Talent Relations for FOX Sports and previously the Director, Talent Relations for the trail-blazing BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD, she initiated, managed and fostered relationships with some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, with whom she effectively developed and implemented mutually beneficial partnerships. In addition to securing scores of sports All-Stars and legends, Laura is an innovator in the confluence of sports and entertainment, having paved the way for what is now an expected route for entertainment promotion. Bradley Cooper, Bill Murray, Justin Timberlake, Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt, Helen Mirren, Barack Obama and Donald Trump are a small sampling of the names whose featured appearances on FOX Sports’ shows were orchestrated and shepherded by her. She has the distinction of having worked with ABC Sports legends Frank Gifford and Al Michaels, comedy diva Roseanne Barr, as well as Terry Bradshaw and the cast of FOX NFL SUNDAY, the number one-rated pregame show. Laura notably jump-started the television career of Michael Strahan by following him for 18 holes on a golf course to convince him to do his first appearance on BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD. She subsequently nurtured his relationship with FOX, which resulted in signing him to a broadcasting deal immediately upon his NFL retirement. “I was accosted at La Costa,” Michael has been known to affectionately joke, fondly nicknaming Laura “the death of me” because she constantly asked him to appear on shows. (That seems to have paid off for Mr. Strahan.) Laura was among the first to book Mark Cuban, Kevin Millar, Steven A. Smith and Skip Bayless for TV appearances and initiated Alex Rodriguez’s successful post-season broadcasting debut on FOX in 2015. As a consummate professional, Laura is well known and respected in the industry. She is the gold-standard in knowing how to treat talent and work effectively with representation, production, sales and marketing.
