Bio

Berlinale Talents alumni Daniel Carsenty wrote and directed 'After Spring Comes Fall', the story of a Syrian woman forced to work as an informer in Berlin which won Best Feature at the Zsigmond Vilmos Festival in Sziget, Hungary. He produced and directed his second film 'The Devil's Drivers' together with Mohammed Abugeth, a documentary about a Bedouin smuggler. It premiered at TIFF in 2021 and won the Special Jury Award at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, the Sunbird Award, and was nominated for the Cinema for Peace Award. Daniel, a graduate of the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, came to directing after working as a TV journalist in the Middle East for ARTE and BBC. His films examine the origins of violence, are reflections on inter-generational trauma, and explore the possibilities of forgiveness.
