Selina Ringel

Selina Ringel's most recent feature film which she wrote, produced and stars in, SINGLE MOTHER BY CHOICE , is streaming on HBOMax. It's a hybrid narrative film with doc elements that tracked her actual pregnancy in real time during the 2020 pandemic. She also directed a short documentary A VIABLE LIFE , that tracks the making of this film and how the pandemic changed her feature and her life which is also streaming on HBOMax. She is an award winning Writer, Producer & Comedian. Selina is Mexican/American and grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico. She is also Jewish. She has collaborated with incredible talent including Issa Rae ( INSECURE) , Lee Aronsohn ( TWO AND A HALF MEN), Salvador Paskowitz ( AGE OF ADELINE). Selina was recently selected as one of twenty upcoming emerging Latino creators for the Tomorrow's Filmmakers Today program sponsored by HBO & The Academy. Her first feature film THE BEST PEOPLE which she wrote & produced was picked up by Samuel Goldwyn Films and got distributed worldwide, in the U.S. it is now available on Amazon Prime & Tubi. Selina is in the Groundlings program, she performs stand up regularly at clubs including the Improv, The Ice House and The Comedy Store. Her feature film screenplay #LIKEME was a top 4 finalist in The Next Teen Movie of the Decade Contest by Issa Rae & Paul Feig. Selina graduated with a Masters in Fine Arts from the Producing program at the AFI Conservatory in 2014.
