Bio

Robyn is one of 9 women selected for the 2022-2021 "Future Directors of Studio Features" initiative sponsored by Blackmagic Collective and reported in Variety. Robyn created/directed the series, THE ROOM ACTORS: WHERE ARE THEY NOW? which screened at Oscar-qualifying film festivals like Hollyshorts and Raindance before launching in partnership with Funny or Die and accumulating 1M+ views. Robyn won the “Best Director” award at the Chicago Comedy FF and “Best Web Series” at LA Indie FF. Her dark comedy, FRUITLESS, was selected to screen at Tribeca in 2020 along with numerous Oscar-qualifying film festivals including 2022 New Filmmakers LA, where she was scouted by NBC. A recent semi-finalist for the AFI DWW, she’s also in pre-production on a family comedy starring George Wallace and is attached to direct two female-driven comedy features. Called “super-talented” (PopSugar), a talent with "moxie and conviction" (LA Times) and “zany and witty” (Tubefilter), Robyn’s work has been profiled in Entertainment Weekly, Movie Maker Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, PopSugar and Script Magazine, among others. She’s appeared on Entertainment Weekly Radio, the ScriptLab podcast and AMC’s Comic Book Men: The Mike and Ming Show. She’ guest lectured at USC and Hollins University and served on panels at the Raindance, Atlanta, and Sunscreen Film Festivals. As a writer, Robyn developed features with Oscar-winning producers, wrote for Disney and penned TV and narrative VR. Robyn won the Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriting Award, the Harmony Gold Award, the Jack Nicholson Prize, and was a Humanitas Prize nominee while an MFA student at UCLA. Her feature screenplay, WHITE ZINFANDEL, was a finalist at Cinequest and Nashville FF in 2022. A seasoned comedic improviser, she performed on house teams with IO West, The Groundlings, The Second City Chicago and IO Chicago. Robyn is currently a Creative Director at Virtual Reality company, Strivr, where she writes and directs narrative VR. She holds a BA in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA. Before pursuing a career in entertainment, Robyn was a management consultant in Washington, DC.
