Bio

Sarah Katz is a Producer, Archivist, Writer, and Videographer who has spent the last twenty years immersed in a broadcast and multimedia career. She has made circuits around the east coast’s vibrant production scene earning credits on numerous non-fiction series for Netflix, History, National Geographic Television, The Great Courses, Biography, Investigation Discovery, and others. In April, 2023 she concluded work with Brooklyn-based Story Syndicate on a yet-to-be released four-part documentary series that will premiere in the summer of 2023. Since 2016 Sarah has served as a contract producer with the Foreign Press Center, Bureau of Global Affairs, Department of State. She produces news stories about American policy with foreign journalists as part of the Media Co-Op program. She has produced over three hundred interviews with the FBI, the Pentagon, Indo-Pacific Command Headquarters in Hawaii, former Vice-President Al Gore, anti-corruption lawyers, Muslim American religious leaders, professors, automotive innovators, renewable energy experts, members of the tech and start-up industries, Republican politicians, and local government leaders. Sarah is a member of the Producers Guild of America. She is a Docs In Progress Teaching Artist and a former Docs In Progress board member. As a board member she launched the Documentary Inspiration Awards celebrating the work of Oscar winning Director Marshall Curry and Editor Matthew Hamachek. She holds a Master of Fine Art in Film from American University for which she received the Guy P. Gannett journalism scholarship from the Maine Community Foundation. Finally, she has an undergraduate degree in French literature and spent a year volunteering in Zimbabwe.­­­­
