Aleshka Ferrero

Aleshka Ferrero is a Puerto Rican film editor based in LA, CA. Her first feature film was Luis Mandoki’s Innocent Voices (Voces Inocentes), which premiered at TIFF, won the Crystal Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, was Mexico’s official Academy Awards selection for Best Foreign Film and earned her an Ariel Award nomination for Best Editing. Ferrero went on to edit Patricia Riggen’s Under The Same Moon (La Misma Luna), an Official Selection at both Sundance and Toronto, and one of the biggest grossing Spanish language films in the US. Other notable work includes Fina Torres’ Liz in September (Liz en Septiembre), the Sundance Channel documentary series Transgeneration, Roberto Sneider’s Tear This Heart Out (Arráncame La Vida) which made the short list for the Academy Awards Best Foreign Film Nominations, as well as Sneider’s You’re Killing Me Susana (Me Estas Matando Susana) starring Gael García Bernal. As part of Film Independent’s Project Involve Fellowship she collaborated with Faren Humes in her award winning short Liberty and Terence Nance in They Charge For The Sun. In 2018, she was selected to participate in the American Cinema Editor’s Diversity Mentorship Program and the Sundance Directors Lab. Recently, she completed Language Lessons, SXSW 2021’s Audience Award winner and official Berlinale selection starring Mark Duplass & Natalie Morales and directed by Morales; as well as Season 2 of the Emmy winning Apple TV+ Series The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon & Steve Carell. Aleshka is currently working on the upcoming A League of their Own TV series for Amazon co-created by Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson, who also stars.
