Bio

Kate is a humor writer, playwright and screenwriter who overuses the rule of three. Her humor writing can be found in McSweeney’s, Points in Case, The Belladonna, and more. Her co-written feminist humor book, JOKES TO OFFEND MEN, was published in Fall of 2022 by Andrews McMeel and distributed by Simon & Schuster. It was inspired by her 2020 viral McSweeney’s piece “Jokes I’ve Told That My Male Colleagues Didn’t Like,” which was in McSweeney’s Top 20 of 2020. The book was recently selected as one of Vulture's Best Comedy Books of 2022, and was featured in New York Magazine's Approval Matrix. Her comedy pilot, HALLE HAD CANCER, OK?, has been named a Finalist in the Scriptation Showcase Teleplay Awards; a Finalist for the Athena Film Fest Lab; and a Semifinalist for the ScreenCraft Fellowship. As a childhood cancer survivor, Kate learned to use comedy to cope — now that she’s supposedly grown up, she hopes her jokes can help other people do the same.
