R.B. Ripley

R.B. Ripley is an award-winning writer and part of the 2021-23 WarnerMedia Access Writing Program (formerly HBO Access). His pilot Sugar Land has been optioned and his pilot The Mender is Top 3 in the 2022 Final Draft Big Break Contest. He also has a television movie credit. Ripley grew up in Pittsburgh as the queer band nerd in a blue-collar, sports-rabid family. His first career was orchestral musician and conductor. But now he’s known for a mature, unique voice and stories diving into the uncomfortable truths of complex characters and families with panache, empathy and humor. When not writing, he enjoys baking, traveling, and cheering the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team (proof of his limitless optimism).
