Petra Korner, AAC

Petra is an award-winning feature film, high-end TV and commercial cinematographer, who is based in Europe as well as the US. After decades of living in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, London and Buenos Aires, Petra eventually relocated back to her native Vienna, but continues to work worldwide. Holding cinematography degrees from NYU Tisch, as well as the renowned AFI Conservatory, Petra’s work has received many accolades; amongst them the prestigious Kodak Vision Award at the Women in Film Awards in Hollywood. Besides a critically acclaimed array of feature films, including The Wackness, starring Sir Ben Kingsley; The Informers, starring Winona Ryder, Kim Basinger, Mickey Rourke and Billy-Bob Thornton; Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take, or An Acceptable Loss, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Petra has recently been serving as the Director of Photography on top-rated TV dramas, such as His Dark Materials for HBO, or Netflix’s Shadow and Bone. She’s a member of the International Cinematographers Guild and the Austrian Association of Cinematographers (AAC), as well as a voting member of BAFTA, the British Academy of Film and Television.
