Jenna Cosgrove

From the moment her parents named her after a character from the cult sci-fi classic Blake’s 7, Jenna never really stood a chance. She’s an exciting, emerging writer and director, with a life-long love of genre, and an unending passion for science fiction. She is known for featuring complex and flawed female protagonists in her work, and for writing highly-commercial concepts with a strong understanding of conflict and pacing. In 2021 Jenna’s science fiction feature WAYWORN won the coveted TrackingB feature screenplay contest. She’s repped by Ken Freimann at Circle of Confusion in the US. Jenna was mentored by Tom Benedek, the writer of the Oscar-winning sci-fi classic COCOON, directed by Ron Howard, and worked with Stephen Corvini, Emmy-winning producer of SAFE HARBOUR, on development of a sci-fi series. Jenna has written and directed numerous commercial projects, shorts, and web series, which have screened at various international festivals. Also a fiction writer, Jenna’s short stories have appeared in genre publications such as Aurealis, and her debut novel TATTOO was published in 2016. Jenna studied screenwriting at RMIT, where she received the VicScreen award for Most Accomplished Graduating Student, and holds a certificate in women’s history from Harvard University.
