Bio
With over 25 years of experience in physical production, Andrew Sachs is a master of film and digital cinema. From Anamorphic to VR, Andrew brings hands-on creative and technical experience as a director of photography to his work as a producer. Andrew has produced documentary series, feature films, and branded content. As Head of Production at Dirty Robber during the COVID-19 pandemic, he produced two Netflix Original docuseries, “Heist” and “We Are The Champions,” as well as the Oscar-winning live action scripted short film “Two Distant Strangers,” also on Netflix. At Dirty Robber, Andrew oversaw production of commercial work for Nike and others and scaled up docuseries production capacity, which included “Tom vs Time” for Facebook Watch and “Breaking 2” for Nat Geo, both of which won Sports Emmys. Prior to joining Dirty Robber, Andrew founded and operated production company Walking Pictures and produced promos, music videos, and feature films including LA Film Critics Award-winning “The David Whiting Story” (2014). Andrew’s experience as director of photography spans music videos, independent feature films including “Johnny Got His Gun” (Ben McKenzie) and stoner noir “Sunken City,” as well as commercial and documentary work. Andrew recently line produced a documentary series for Film 45, now streaming on Showtime, and representing Paramount+ inaugural “content for change” programming: BOYS IN BLUE is a searing four-part docuseries from Emmy®-winning filmmaker Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor) that spotlights North Community High School and its football team in North Minneapolis during the 2021 season as the players come of age in the aftermath of the police killing of George Floyd. BOYS IN BLUE focuses on North High School’s Polars football team, where mostly Black student-athletes are coached and mentored by members of the Minneapolis Police Department.
