Aleksandra Szczepanowska

New York-based writer/director Aleksandra Szczepanowska’s feature film TOUCH won Best Feature and Best Director at NYC Independent Film Festival, Best Feature at LA Femme, Best Screenplay at Beloit, Best Feature at Greenpoint, and Best Producer at Toronto International Women’s Film Festival, among other awards. TOUCH was shot in China in Mandarin Chinese and was distributed by HBO Europe and Indie Rights (US). Her screenplay TOUCH was shortlisted for the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, the Finish Line Script Competition, and the Sundance Development Lab. Szczepanowska most recently directed a couple music videos for Eri Yamamoto Trio’s “A Woman with a Purple Wig” album that are just entering the festival circuit, and that were listed as top 10 in 2023 by Jazziz Magazine. She also wrote, directed, and produced numerous short films with her artistic partner Jean-Luc Ormieres, with whom she continues to collaborate. Before filmmaking, Szczepanowska worked in environment, energy, and security in TChad, China, Singapore, Europe, and North America. Szczepanowska holds a BA in Political Science from Columbia College and MIA in Energy Management from Columbia University.
