Heidi Nyburg

Heidi is a writer director currently enjoying a successful festival run with her latest short film FIVE AND A HALF. Her pilot scripts have won at Stage 32, Script Pipeline, and LA International Screenwriting Competition. She has also had a pilot featured on The Blacklist, won the Launch Pad Tracking Board Mentorship and she was a semifinalist at Austin Film Festival. Her feature film scripts have been finalists in top contests including Page, Script Pipeline, ScreenCraft, and Final Draft Big Break. She has been invited to multiple CineStory TV and Feature retreats. Her feature film script Just Be Cool (as Mock Draft) made the top 10% at The Academy Nicholls Fellowship. Her pilot script Aeternum took fourth place at ScreenCraft Pilot Launch, and was a Script Pipeline finalist. She has written and directed short films for Cinequest Film Festival’s Picture the Possibilities film production program for youth in crisis. She lives in California, dividing her time between Los Angeles and Santa Cruz. When she's not writing she enjoys spending time with her husband, and her two school-aged children who have exposed her to the freedom of never needing sleep, how not to die in MineCraft, and the thrill of extracting Legos from the Roomba.
