Melanie Schiele

Melanie Schiele is an award-winning filmmaker, story analyst, and programming consultant known for her acclaimed narrative short films DELILAH, BEFORE and ROCKAWAY. She is a pioneering MFA degree alumna of NYU’s Tisch Asia Graduate Film Program in Singapore and also earned a BFA degree from NYU in Screenwriting. Her feature drama script BUTTERFLY CHILDREN is the recipient of 40 accolades, including from Sundance, Slamdance, Nicholl, American Zoetrope, ScreenCraft, PAGE, Humanitas New Voices, Stowe Story Labs, the NYU Purple List, and the inaugural Wscripted Cannes Screenplay List. As a freelance creative consultant, she has worked for BRON Studios, Sundance, NBCUniversal, Adam Driver’s non-profit Arts in the Armed Forces, SFFILM, Tribeca, Atlanta Film Festival, and Stowe Story Labs. She has spoken on festival panels addressing the need for creating strong female roles and written about her own endeavors in Tribeca's Future of Film and Women & Hollywood publications.
