Bio

CHRISTINA K. LICUD is an award-winning Filipina-American screenwriter and Virginia native. She made her festival debut at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival with the premiere of her scripted horror anthology podcast SOMETHING STRANGE IS HAPPENING, which she wrote, produced, and co-directed. The series was optioned by eOne and is now in development for TV. Her half-hour dramedy, GRINGAS, was one of 10 projects selected for the 2020 PGA Power of Diversity Master Workshop, which aims to boost producers of underrepresented communities. The series is currently in development at Hulu. Christina earned her MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute, where she won its 2020 Writers’ Room Ready Award for her half-hour dramedy 24K and its 2020 William J. Fadiman Award for her coming-of-age drama DAUGHTERS. She is one of three fellows in AFI history to win both of these awards, which recognize outstanding achievement and exceptional work in TV writing and feature writing, respectively. Before transitioning to film, Christina worked in advertising at the executive level in both creative and strategy for major brands such as GEICO and Ciroc Vodka. She also holds an MS in Publishing from New York University, where she specialized in new media experiences and cinematic audio.
