Andres Solorzano

Andrés Solórzano graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, with a bachelor's degree in Communications and a specialization in Film Production. During this period, he worked for Red Bull's communications department, where he developed social media strategy and audiovisual content that was successfully replicated throughout Latin America. Upon graduation, he directed the first stereoscopic 3D television content in Mexico, the iconic off-road race Baja 1000 for Red Bull Media House. ​​ In 2016 he graduated from the prestigious American Film Institute (AFI) with an MFA in cinematography. He is also a Film Independent Project Involve Cinematography alumni. ​ His work as Director of Photography has lensed projects for Disney, Netflix, Hulu, Vanity Fair, Vans, Citibank, Girl Scouts of America, Hennessy, P&G, Bloomberg, Nat Geo, among many others. ​​ Andres has poured his passion into stories that positively impact a different society, working with native indigenous communities, immigrants, and social movements. The feature documentary Huicholes: The Last Peyote Guardians won eleven different awards at international film festivals. The latest narrative feature film he shot Love and Baseball premiered at HBO Max in 2022. His TV work and narrative films have been programmed on Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, theaters, and esteemed film festivals such as Austin Film Festival, Dances with Films, HollyShorts, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Torino Film Festival, among many others. The documentary miniseries, House of Mamis, won the Special Recognition Award at the 30th GLAAD Media Awards. Additionally the short film he shot for Film Independent Project Involve, Hard won the Alternative Spirit Award (LGBTQ+) Short at the Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival and the Audience Choice Award of the New York City Short Film Festival.
