Medha Jaishankar

LA based, Medha Jaishankar has built a career in media and entertainment for almost two decades. She is the executive producer on the upcoming feature film, "He Went That Way", starring Jacob Elordi and Zachary Quinto. She also works with companies led by Indian industrialist Rajan Navani, Jack Giarraputo (Adam Sandler's former producing partner) and renowned music industry executive Phil Quartararo (founder of Virgin Records America). The US-India Business Council (under the U.S.Chamber of Commerce) recently selected her to co-chair their Media & Entertainment Council. Medha began her career in NYC as a grip/gaffer on several films, then worked as a camerawoman, editor, producer and reporter for the BBC film review show, Talking Movies where she filmed and interviewed filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino, Spike Lee, and Mike Figgis, and actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Jared Leto, Ice Cube and Vin Diesel. After BBC, she worked in India as a consultant for Reliance Entertainment and served as a founder and selection committee member of the 2012 Mumbai Mantra -Sundance Institute’s screenwriters lab. During her time in India, she also directed and produced episodes of ABSOLUT’s Blue Frog Diaries for MTV. After moving to LA, Medha worked closely with Oscar and BAFTA winning producers. In 2018 she produced music videos for Ugandan rapper GNL Zamba (along with cinematographer Halyna Hutchins), and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan - collectively receiving more than 2.5M YouTube views. In 2020, she executive produced the horror short film "Facelift" that premiered at Nightstream - the biggest US genre festival in 2020 - as well as 10 other major genre film festivals. Medha has lived in 8 countries and speaks 4 languages - and currently serves on the advisory board of the Asian World Film Festival - a festival that showcases Oscar nominated films from Asia. In addition she has actively mentored 24 female filmmakers to date via #StartWith8Hollywood, and runs workshops for nota
