Bio

Elvira Ibragimova is an LA-based comedy filmmaker. Elvira is a half Jewish, half Muslim political refugee, hailing from sunny, Soviet-era Uzbekistan. She and her family came to the United States when she was ten. After an initial career in architecture, she turned to filmmaking. She studied at Second City’s Harold Ramis Film School. Her short film Dingus Wishes placed in multiple film festivals and helped her secure the Viacom Viewfinder Directing Fellowship, a yearlong training program for episodic television. She recently completed the WSC Squad, a six month long mentorship program within the DGA. Her TV credits include Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC, Danger Force on Nickelodeon and Fairly OddParents on Paramount+. Her latest project, We’re Doing Good, is an autobiographical comedy series about trying to be a good person; it had its world premiere at SXSW and was also a selection at HollyShorts and SeriesFest where it won the Caz Matthews grant. (By the way, it's pronounced El-vEE-ruh and as much as she wishes her parents were THAT cool, she was not named after The Mistress of the Dark.)
