Bio

Cameron Yates is a filmmaker and curator who has worked with Maysles Films, Zeitgeist Films, and the Hamptons International Film Fest. His first feature film, The Canal Street Madam, premiered at the SXSW Film Fest and told the story of a New Orleans madam who ran a brothel with her mother and daughter until she was busted by the FBI. Chef Flynn, a portrait of a prodigy chef and his mother, premiered at Sundance & Berlin before opening theatrically. His latest project is a documentary series called Quitting Time, which explores the releases people have after they clock out for the day. The first episode of Luis, an NYC bus driver/cheerleader world premiered at the 2022 True/False Film Fest. While continuing to pursue film projects, Cameron recently launched a new venture called Stray, an exploration of awe through rabbit holes and transgressive placemaking. Stray builds larger-than-life sandboxes to give artists and collaborators the opportunity to create immersive worlds of discovery and wonder. Through these awe-inspiring experiences, Stray hopes to facilitate connection between diverse populations and remind us all how to play again.
