Community Guidelines

Last Revised: December 1, 2022

HUSSLUP values and promotes diversity and believes everyone has a voice that should be heard. Our goal is to create a global community where all kinds of creative talent can connect, collaborate, and discover opportunities.

We value collaboration over competition. There is an abundance of opportunity and a shortage of access so let’s all HUSSLUP together.

We believe in the strength of diversity. Homogeneous communities and creative teams are poorly equipped for innovation or success. Our goal is to build a diverse community that will make compelling content for diverse audiences around the globe.

In order to meet the goals of this community, it’s important for members to work together to create a supportive space for each other. As such, we request that you read and adhere to the following guidelines.

Community Values

When you become a member of this community, we expect you to uphold these shared values.

  • Be Kind and Respectful
Together let’s build a positive, welcoming environment where everyone feels safe to share ideas, thoughts, and feedback. Treat others online as you would in real life professional situations. Use welcoming and inclusive language and respect the privacy and personal information of HUSSLUP members. Let’s be supportive of each other, respect differing points of view, and report posts that violate our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines if needed.
  • Be Relevant
This is a community of professionals. The goal of this community is to connect creative talent to each other to collaborate, and to executives at production companies and studios and staff on jobs. Posts that don't encourage professional conversations or posts that aren’t relevant to these goals may be deleted. Members who impersonate someone else or do not use their real information will be removed from HUSSLUP.
  • Zero Tolerance for Harassment
We will frequently disagree, but members should never use HUSSLUP to directly attack a person. Any posts, comments, or DMs to members or admins that are inappropriate, unprofessional, or aggressive will be immediately removed. This includes posts that spread misinformation or are disruptive to professional community conversations.

No one likes a jerk so members cannot:

  • Make personal attacks on other members or any individuals
  • Use defamatory remarks or make false statements
  • Enage in racism, sexism, homophobia or any other discrimination
  • Bully, troll or make inflammatory remarks to other members
  • Spread spam, content not related to the community, unapproved advertising, or post content repeatedly on the feed, in community groups, or in DMs

Consequences:

When someone violates these guidelines, we will take action, which can include an initial warning, revoking specific privileges, and suspending accounts. Review the full terms for more information about this. Members can report behavior that violates our guidelines to support@husslup.com for review.

Best Practices

Members frequently ask us about the best practices to be successful on HUSSLUP. Here are some general best practices to follow to be a valued member of the community:
Please DO:

  • Introduce yourself on the feed.
  • Support and validate other members' posts with positive feedback on wins or announcements.
  • Offer helpful answers to other members when they ask questions on the feed.
  • Vouch for members you have worked with so that others in the community can better understand their skills and expertise.
  • Post asks about what you need to further your career in the Give/Get channel of the feed.
  • Try to connect with and cultivate relationships with members you don’t know by sending a friendly DM about yourself.

Please DO NOT:

  • Cold message members with requests to read your scripts or take a meeting.
  • This can be off-putting to busy professionals in the industry. It is better to cultivate a relationship first.
  • Repeatedly DM a member who does not respond. Sometimes, people are busy or at a stage in their career where they cannot respond to every DM and members need to respect that.
  • Post unconstructive negative updates or comments.
  • Spam members with solicitations to pay for services on the feed or in DMs.
