Bio
Helena is a dedicated filmmaker with an adventurous spirit. She's a director member of the Alliance of Women Directors (AWD) based in Los Angeles. Helena used to work as the Series Producer for "FACES OF AFRICA”, a documentary series of China Global TV Network. She produced 200 episodes across 30 countries featuring characters from street children of Rwanda to Winnie Mandela. She directed 15 documentaries on China’s society. She covered the massive Wenchuan Earthquake (Magnitude 7.9) in 2008, experiencing the imminent dangers of a dam collapsing. Her documentary "When Chinese Meet Zambians" garnered 2.9 million views on YouTube. in 2019, her work "The Island" on Zanzibar won “Best Medium Documentary” at the Heritales Film Festival in Portugal. Her documentaries are widely claimed as spiritual and inspirational. In recent years, she expanded into narrative films which are often deeply emotional, and psychological with intense drama. Helena has an unstoppable curiosity about life and the world. And FILM, is her best tool to explore.
