Bio
Miami native Laura Bunbury is a Black-Caribbean writer and award-winning producer. She enjoys writing multicultural YA, teen/family dramas, single camera and social commentary shows. She and her sister produced ‘Tuesday,’ a social commentary short film, winning at Cannes. Tuesday went on to win 9 awards (US & Internationally) and screened in over 47 festivals around the world. The duo had another Cannes win at the Mo-Film competition for “Think Tank.” ‘Unfaithful,’ an inspirational short they produced, has won at several festivals. They wrote and produced shows at Santa Monica CityTV and have also written and produced four short films. They developed, wrote and produced a social commentary web series, Talkback. Through their own resourcefulness, they secured jobs in the writer’s room on Hallmark’s ‘Good Witch,’ and had the opportunity to write on several episodes. The duo recently wrote a freelance episode of a new Sony series and is currently in development with Reform Media Group on a 1-hour teen/family drama. Laura has a degree in Social Science and a minor in Ethnic Studies. She is a #Startwith8Hollywood mentee and BlackMagic Collective's Breakthrough Initiative fellow, and Team Lead in the program. In her spare time, she loves to cook with her sister and can always find something to laugh about.
