Deanna Shumaker

Deanna grew up on a farm in small town rural Florida. After graduating college with a very useful degree in Public Relations, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in television. A network drama junkie, she loves all things CW and mysteries with fucked up families. While her credits are crime procedurals (she knows how to write those!) she gravitates towards projects with humor or a quirky take, and much prefers shows with well-defined character relationships to ones with big action set pieces (but loves it when a show does both). Deanna is an alumnus of the WB Writers’ Workshop. Her pilot Long Lost won first place in the 2015 Nashville Film Festival Drama Teleplay Competition, her pilot The Apology Tour made the 2019 WeForShe WriteHer List, and she was selected as one of the WGAW TV Writer Access Project Honorees.
