Alessandro Pederzoli
Alessandro Pederzoli
Bio
Italian, Mexican, screenwriter, director, musician, fencer, and other cool things. Born to a Mexican literature teacher and an Italian orchestra director, Alessandro was raised in the glamor of the backstage of opera houses around the world. While growing up he lived in seven different countries, which made him fluent in four languages. The only constant since he was five years old until he graduated college was fencing. He fenced professionally and was part of the Olympic Team, which allowed him to travel to even more countries while competing in world cups and world championships. He got a BA in film directing from the University of Bologna, Italy. After graduating college, he worked directing commercials in France and Mexico for several years. He then moved to Los Angeles where he finally feels at home and where he got an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute Conservatory. His thesis short film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival VR 2020 and it was the first ever VR thesis film produced at AFI. His screenplays have placed as finalists in several screenwriting competitions such as Austin Film Festival, Final Draft Big Break, Emerging Screenwriters, among others. He was selected as one of the Inaugural Fellows of ``The Minority Report'', an industry-vetted list of the top scripts written by diverse students and won the Writers’ Room Ready Award with his pilot “NarcoBruja”. The award recognizes outstanding work by AFI Conservatory Screenwriting Fellows. Most recently, Alessandro was selected as a fellow in the BAFTA 2021 Newcomers Program. Alessandro is obsessed with technology, new media, crypto, NFTs, digital worlds, video games, electric mobility, music and culture, which often permeate his writing to create original characters and worlds that speak of global and current subjects that are frequently ignored. Alessandro is represented by Ari Lubet at 3 Arts Entertainment.
