Monica Levinson

Monica Levinson is a prolific film and television producer whose expansive career is reflected by the diverse array of projects she has produced. Working alongside top innovators in entertainment, she is frequently lauded for her passion to protect and further the creative aspects of filmmaking, with a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility. Monica is currently in post-production on Bill Burr’s Old Dads, and she just made her directorial debut of a documentary feature The Stories of Us. The last two years were busy ones for Levinson, with five feature films and four television specials debuting including the globat hit, Golden Globe Winner Borat Subsequent Moviefilm; two high-profile independent films: Wander Darkly, directed by Tara Miele and The Water Man, directed by David Oyelowo; and three specials for Amazon including Debunking Borat. As President of Production at ShivHans Pictures from its inception in 2014 through 2019, Levinson oversaw all aspects of film and television development, production, post-production, financing and distribution turnover, as well as running day-to-day company operations. There she produced Oscar-nominated films Trumbo and Captain Fantastic as well as other acclaimed films including Brian Banks, Beirut and Danny Collins. Levinson joined ShivHans following stints on an array of hit films such as Bruno, Zoolander, Dodgeball, Clear History, Private Parts and Borat, which was named one of the Top 10 Films of 2006 by the AFI. After starting her career in broadcast news in her hometown of Washington D.C., Levinson made her transition into narrative storytelling while working on feature films with visionary directors Alan J. Pakula, Sidney Lumet and Michael Mann. Levinson is an executive board member of Women in Film, a member of the Producers Branch of AMPAS, DGA, PGA and part of the leadership team for Women’s Production Society. She mentors young filmmakers, and often guest lectures at universities.
