Ken Austin

Over two decades of traveling across the United States as a military brat has given Ken Austin an exciting look at various slices of American life and culture. From the profoundly conservative culture of the Deep South to the posh upper middle class of New York City, Ken Austin analyzes these differences and satirizes them to make social commentary. Since age five, storytelling has been as much of a profound aspect of Ken’s personhood as her conservative upbringing. As an act of rebellion, Ken Austin uses comedy to critique the status quo, from satirization of race, gender, class, and sexuality. She produced her first broadcast television show at twenty-one in Honolulu, Hawaii. Despite little experience in screenwriting and directing at the beginning of her graduate degree, she won the Audience Choice Award for her film “The Gold Digger: Murder, Money, & Mayhem.” from her alma mater Savannah College of Art and Design. Currently, Ken Austin resides in Los Angeles, honing her skills as a filmmaker.
