Nanci Gaglio

Nanci Gaglio (writer / director) began as a performer in lower Manhattan, then earned an MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts on a full-tuition scholarship. She's a Sundance Knight Fellow. Her short films have screened in over 150 film festivals across the world. -------------------------------------------------------- Her latest short I SAW WHAT I SAW, (writer / director) made its world premiere at LA Shorts International in July, 2023. It won Best Suspense Short at Chandler Int'l Film Festival (Jan, 2024) and now on the Academy-qualifying Film Fest circuit.-------------------- As an Exec Producer, Nanci raised 100% of the capitol and negotiated distribution for HEALED, a feature now streaming on Tubi and Amazon.-------------------------- VENUS RISING, a dramatic TV pilot script is a winner of Big Apple Film Festival and Screenplay Competition in May, 2023 and a finalist with Santa Barbara Int’l Screenplay Awards in Dec 2022. It placed as quarter-finalist with The PAGE International Screenplay Awards (July, 2023) and was a second-rounder with Austin Film Festival.--------------------------------------------- THANK DOG! A feature dark comedy script was invited to Sundance Screenwriting Intensive (Knight Fellow). The script is a Semi-Finalist with LA International Screenplay Awards (July, 2023), and Quarter-Finalist with The PAGE International Screenplay Awards. THANK DOG! is about a southern couple (boy &girl, both 19) who struggle at a pray-away-the-gay church program in Louisiana. THANK DOG! was a Q-finalist with Nicholl in its first draft under a different title.---------------------------------------
