Ora Yashar

Ora Yashar is an Iranian American writer/director. Her short film Melting the Snowman has screened in over twenty-five film festivals and her scripts have placed in prominent screenwriting competitions. She was the Showrunner’s Assistant on Atypical for S2&3 and for the past seven years has served as a story consultant for Sundance’s Episodic Lab. In 2020, she was selected as a Film Independent Episodic Lab Fellow and in 2019 a NEXT Fellow at The Braid Theatre. Experiences writing an Emmy nominated PSA for the Santa Monica Museum of Art and directing a 2x Telly award winning PSA for the ALS Association have been deeply gratifying. For the summer of 2021, Ora is proud to have produced the salon theatre show Persian Sunrise, American Sunset, which explores the culturally fractured experiences of Iranians living in the U.S. She earned her MFA in Directing at Chapman University and is currently an assistant to the EP on the hit CBS series The Equalizer.
