Bio
Jon-Carlos Evans is an award-winning American filmmaker, audiovisual artist, and educator. A native of St.Louis, MO, he holds a B.A. in Film Production from Webster University-St. Louis and an MFA in Media Arts Production from the City College of New York. Evans’ previous works include short films "Antithesis", "Goodbye Brooklyn," "Julya," and "Salvation (Without You”).” He is a recipient of the Eastman Kodak Student Grant (2006), the Aloha Accolade Award (2010, Honolulu International Festival), and the Silver Palm Award (2010, Mexico International Film Festival). His 2017 mid-length feature, "All Tomorrow's Children," won the Bronze Remi Award at Worldfest Houston International Film Festival and Best Narrative Film at the 2018 CUNY Film Festival. In 2020, Evans became Creative Production (Film) Programme MA Lead, in which he designed the first post-graduate Film Production curriculum at the Catalyst Institute for Creative & Technological Arts in Berlin. His latest fantasy/sci-fi short, “Ashé (Night)” premiered at the Odeon Cinema in Rio de Janeiro and is currently being distributed by 7 Palms Entertainment. Most recently, his in-development project “The Lost Gods of Memphis' ' won the Script Series category of the 56th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival FANPITCH. Some notable past collaborations and clients include NBC/Universal, ABC, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Homeboy Sandman, Luis Argueta, Kyojo Takenaka, Animal Planet, Bravo!, et al.. Under his musical alias Klaas von Karlos, he is the founder of AV collective ReVerse Bullets and a member of the collaborative projects BIINDS, OXI, Divan Rouge, and Naked Sweatshop.
