Bio
Kate writes about remarkable women who’ve been forgotten by history. Her play, NURSE CADDEN, won First Place in Martha Plimpton’s inaugural A is For Playwriting Contest. The script received a virtual reading starring Ann Dowd and is currently available for licencing via Next Stage Press. Her screenplay, CAPTURING THE STARS, won a $20,000 grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and received an Honorable Mention for the Sloan/Tribeca Grand Jury Prize. She holds an MFA in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University, where she was the recipient of the Steven Bochco Fellowship. She’s an alumna of The British American Drama Academy’s “Midsummer in Oxford Program” and has studied improv and sketch comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade.
